The academy is a nationwide network of committed lecturers from all disciplines and types of university. Its members are characterized by particular innovative strength and an outstanding commitment to the further development of university teaching. The aim of the academy is to sustainably promote the quality of teaching through interdisciplinary exchange, joint projects and collegial advice.
I would like to congratulate Daniel Winkler from the bottom of my heart, as this admission is a special recognition of his outstanding commitment to university teaching. It has been recognized that he is one of the highly motivated and committed multipliers of excellent and professional teaching. We are proud to have him at our Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.
Daniel Winkler won over the selection process with an innovative teaching project that combines educational technologies such as augmented reality and transportation drone technologies in a didactically sound way. He developed a practical case study in the "Production and Lean Management" module on the industrial engineering course, in which students go through a complete production scenario: from the AR-supported assembly of a planetary gearbox to in-house drone transportation. The results were documented and reflected on in learning portfolios.
The project-oriented structure of the course enabled me to take responsibility for my own learning and created a clear practical relevance. The workshop-like implementation of the learning steps made theoretical content tangible and directly applicable.
With his membership, Daniel Winkler not only wants to gain new impetus for his own teaching practice, but also contribute his experience in the didactic integration of digital technologies, the design of innovative teaching/learning scenarios and ethical reflection on the use of technology to the academy community. He sees his acceptance as an encouragement to continue thinking about university teaching in a practical, interdisciplinary and future-oriented way.
