As part of the project "ZINT - Zusammen integrative/inklusive Schule entwickeln" ("ZINT - Developing inclusive schools together"), the 3rd workshop of former and active participants of the ZINT course took place on November 13 and 14, 2015 at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences under the title "Unterricht innovativ! - On the luck of having a good teacher", the 3rd workshop for former and active participants of the ZINT course took place. This continues a tradition of teacher training that began in 2013.

Dr. Petra Koinzer, project manager for networking and further training in the ZINT project, together with Prof. Dr. Matthias Schmidt, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, welcomed the participants to the conference, which took place in both lecture halls for the first time. As moderator, Prof. Dr. Schmidt, together with the participants from the individual parts of the conference, formed a diverse overall picture of the questions and challenges of lesson design in inclusive learning groups in his usual professional manner.

Prof. Dr. Friedrich Albrecht, Rector of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences and project manager of the overall project, welcomed the participants and presented the third project phase of the ZINT project, which is located at the university's Institute for Education, Information and Communication (BIK) from 2016 to 2018, with the individual project components. At the same time, he conveyed the greetings of the Vice-Rector for Education and International Affairs of Leipzig University as a representative of the project partner.

Teilnehmer der Arbeitstagung

As the main speaker, learning methodologist and developer of the Endres Learning Methodology and  teacher trainer Wolfgang Endres from the Studienhaus St. Blasien provided answers to the questions: How do you recognize good teaching and how do you manage to have motivated students and cooperative parents, captivated the educators and education experts present and inspired the seminar participants with his explanations on resonance pedagogy - balance between empathy and leadership.

His expert input was complemented by Dr. Tuyet Helmke from the University of Constance, who used the results of the Hattie study to derive action strategies for everyday teaching and presented the educators with evidence-based methods for teaching diagnostics and development (EMU).

A lively exchange of experiences between the multipliers for integration, those responsible for integration in Saxon schools, representatives of the school supervisory authorities and experts from universities, colleges and practice in a symposium entitled: "Designing inclusion-oriented school learning opportunities - together we can succeed" supplemented the topics of the practical seminars on lesson design in heterogeneous learning groups.

Austausch in den Seminaren

The following key topics were available for in-depth study in the seminars: Opportunities for successful communication in the classroom with Sara Jablonski, Support and challenge in foreign language lessons with Dr. Frank Haß, Systemic observation and solution-oriented action  in inclusive schools with PD Dr. Holger Lindemann, Differentiation in the "minor subject" for learning success with Dr. Andrea Rendel, or thinking inclusion from the child's perspective with Prof. Dr. Petra Büker and Christine Weiß and, especially for participants from vocational schools, individual and continuous support in vocational education through the specialist concept of assisted training (AsA), with Simone Kessler and Janet Köhler.

In cooperation with various partners, the conference also offered the 180 participants from all types of schools and regions in Saxony as well as school supervisory staff learning experiments, literature, further training and support services for inclusion-oriented lesson design at a market of opportunities.

Markt der Möglichkeiten

The first day of the conference came to a great end in the evening at the Bürgerstübl meet and talk  and the opportunity to exchange ideas and make new contacts and activate existing ones, also thanks to the entire restaurant team led by Ms. Carmen Schade. The pupils of the Astrid Lindgren School, a school for the mentally disabled in Weißwasser, together with their teachers, delighted the teachers and speakers present in the Jacob Böhme Saal with their play "The Little Lion and his Friends" on the subject of accessibility and their enthusiasm for acting.

On the second day of the conference, the focus was on regional networking. After a keynote speech by Jörg Heidig on the dynamics of change processes and the opportunities of cooperation and collaboration in networks, the participants went to their regional network groups to discuss the further development of their cooperation in the 2015/2016 school year at and to share their experiences.

Our special thanks go to Sandro Hänseroth for the conference documentation and moderation in the 2nd lecture hall and to Mr. Möldner for the technical support. The conference was also a complete success thanks to the helpful support of the project team and the support of the students with the conference organization and documentation.

Thanks also go to the janitors Mr. Otto and Mr. Zucker and Mr. Zenker as well as Ms. Krusche for their support in organizing the conference. We would also like to thank the Kelichhaus catering and gastronomy service in Görlitz for the tasty conference catering.

During the conference, the committed educators from all types of schools were able to deepen their specialist knowledge, share experiences and expand their own skills with the aim of finding ideas and solutions together to overcome challenges on the path to inclusive school development.

We would like to thank the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences for supporting the conference and look forward to the 4th conference in the fall of 2016, when new topics on integrative/inclusive teaching and school development will be discussed.
