Personal details:

Professor Kratzsch completed his studies in electrical engineering/automation technology at the HSZG in 2003. In 2009, he received his doctorate in engineering from the TU Bergakademie Freiberg. In March 2011, he was appointed professor for measurement technology/process automation at the HSZG.

From the beginning, Prof. Kratzsch was very active in research. From 2004 to 2011, he worked as a project collaborator within BMBF-funded projects of the HSZG or as a leader of research projects. In 2011, he took over as head of the department "Measurement Technology/Process Automation" at the Institute of Process Technology, Process Automation and Measurement (IPM). From 2009 to 2016, he served as project manager at IPM and from 2016 to 2020, he served as director of IPM. From January 2019 to February 2020, he headed the research group "Lightweight Construction and Energy Technology" at Fraunhofer-IWU, Plastics Center Oberlausitz.

In addition to research, he also contributed to academic self-administration. In 2015, he took over the management of the study program "Automation and Mechatronics" at the HSZG, was the technical core team advisor for the field of mechatronics of the German-Mexican University and responsible for the study exchange program in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science with Mexico as well as a member of the permanent commission of engineering sciences of the HSZG.
