Kinder Academy

Scientists from various disciplines have their say and show how exciting science can be. The lectures are aimed at children aged eight to 12. They last about three quarters of an hour. Participation is free of charge and at the child's own risk. Just like at a real university, there is also a student ID card for the young students, in which they can collect participation stamps. For as many of these stamps as possible, a Children's Academy diploma is awarded at the end of the semester.

For Polish children, all lectures in Görlitz will be simultaneously translated. Parents are not allowed in the lecture hall during the lecture. The Children's Academy Görlitz is a joint event of the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz and the Senckenberg Museum of Natural History Görlitz. In Görlitz, the lectures take place on Fridays at 4 p.m., alternating between the university and the Senckenberg Museum für Naturkunde Görlitz.

In Zittau, the lectures take place in the New Lecture Hall Building on the university campus.
