The hallmarks of research activities in our Faculty are their predominantly (euro-)regional orientation and their high level of inter- and trans-disciplinary cooperation.
Parallel to this work on our research foci, the Faculty has over the years systematically developed and established social research methodologies. Our studies now exhibit a broad spectrum of methodological approaches. Ethnographic field surveys, research into biographies and metaphor analysis – all stand side by side with evaluation research. Therefore both paradigms of social research – the qualitative and the quantitative – are covered.
