Applications for admission must be made online through the University's applicant portal.
Please print your application for admission/enrolment after you have completed the online form, sign it and send it by mail, along with all other neccessary documents to us (Hochschule Zittau/Görlitz, Dezernat Studium und Internationales, Theodor-Körner-Allee 16, 02763 Zittau).
Please note that section 6 no. (6) of our Regulations for Admission (in the version published on 22 Oct 2018, as amended from time to time) stipulates that applicants from outside Germany can only be admitted if all individual learning achievements of their previous education, starting with the secondary school leaving certificate, have been attained.
Foreign applicants who are eligible for direct university access must also submit a relevant language certificate (see (b)); applicants who are qualified for indirect university access need to present a certificate of having passed the FSP university aptitude exams (Feststellungsprüfung).

* for all business and social science courses of study at least DSH-2 or TestDaF level 4 (in all four partial examinations)
If you are unable to provide the certificate required under a) or b), it is possible to obtain the certificate of the assessment test or the DSH certificate at our Studienkolleg. For this, participation in the respective preparatory course is required. The standard period of study for the DSH course is one semester. The standard period of study for the specialization course to obtain the assessment test is two semesters.
You apply for admission to the Studienkolleg or the DSH course at the same time as you apply for a place at university. The Studienkolleg does not offer beginner courses in German. Therefore, prior knowledge of the German language must be proven with the application as follows:
EU citizens submit a B1 certificate or proof of 400 hours of prior German language training.
Non-EU citizens are required to submit a B1 certificate from the Goethe Institute or a B1 ÖSD certificate. B1 certificates from other language schools can only be accepted if they were acquired in Germany. Evidence of all four partial examinations (reading, listening, speaking, writing) must be provided at the time of application. Incomplete certificates will not be considered.
For admission to our Studienkolleg, you must take a placement test in Zittau.
Your application will not be processed until we have received all required documents.
I. for direct studies
for the winter semester mid-May - 15.07. for the summer semester 15.12. - 15.01.
For courses without a selection procedure also beyond this date (if necessary until the assessment limit is reached) by 15.09. at the latest for the winter semester and by 28.02. at the latest for the summer semester.
II. with previous attendance of a DSH course or an emphasis course for the assessment test at the Studienkolleg Zittau
for the winter semester 01.03. - 30.04. for the summer semester 01.09. - 31.10.
The complete application documents must be received by mail at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences by 15.05. (for Polish applicants by the 29th calendar week) of the year for the winter semester or by 15.11. of the previous year for the summer semester.
There are notuition fees . Neither at the Studienkolleg nor in the specialized studies. Living costs are between 500,00 to 600,00 Euro/month (rent, health insurance, food ...)
Semester times
The winter semester begins on 01.09. and ends on 28.02. of the following year. The summer semester begins on 01.03. and ends on 31.08. of the same year.
