Erasmus+ promotes visiting lectureships of academic staff at European universities whom have been awarded the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (EHCE).
The Erasmus+ STA Programme contributes to staff mobility and facilitates professional exchange and the recognition of new prospects. Essential advantages of an Erasmus exchange are the building and deepening of networks and the development of individual competence.
Visiting lecturers are expected to reinforce the European dimension of their respective partner institutions and add to their courses on offer, and to pass on their knowledge to students who can not or do not want to study abroad.
Ideally, exchange programmes include the development of joint curricula between both partner universities and the exchange of teaching contents and methods.
