The University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz has set itself the goal of implementing equal opportunities and gender equality at the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz and supporting their realization in the (Upper) Lausitz region. In order to enable a continuous and sustainable development and learning process in this field, we bundle our equality-related activities in the Office for Gender Equality, Inclusion, Women's and Diversity Research.
The AGIFD has set itself the task of making questions, challenges and needs regarding gender equality and diversity policy at the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz and the region of (Upper) Lusatia visible, discussing them and working together on ideas and solutions.
At the university, it pursues the goal of enabling discrimination-free(r) structures and equal(r) participation of all students and employees. The topics of gender equality, advancement of women, inclusion and diversity are understood as cross-sectional tasks that address both study and working conditions as well as teaching, research and the third mission. Special attention is paid to processes of disregard and exclusion of women, LGBTIQ* people, disabled people and people with migration experience as well as multiple discrimination. Another focus is the transfer of knowledge to the region of rural (Upper) Lusatia and the inclusion of regional actors in the work processes.
The working group sees itself as an open space of discourse in which all members of the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz are welcome, in which needs and positions are articulated and programmatic orientations and possible implementation strategies of the AGIFD are discussed. All interested parties can apply for personal membership to the spokespersons of the working group. Personal membership requires active participation in the AGIFD. Membership is not required for participation in AGIFD activities.
The working group meets at least once a semester to coordinate the activities of the university and its members. Specific questions, topics and needs are dealt with in self-organized working groups.
Interested members of the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz are invited to get involved in the AGIFD.
