Research at our University is organized primarily in our institutes. Essentially, these are coordinated teams of teachers and professors, often from several faculties. The directors of those institutes are actively and equally involved in the processes of academic self-governance, so making sure that research remains an integral part of our organizational structure.

However, conducting research in institutes only is not imperative. There are many good examples to show that interdisciplinary collaboration and the support of young scientists work equally well when limited to a single faculty.
