Information for international prospective students

Applications for admission must be made online through the University's applicant portal.

Please print your application for admission/enrolment after you have completed the online form, sign it and send it by mail, along with all other neccessary documents to us (Hochschule Zittau/Görlitz, Dezernat Studium und Internationales, Theodor-Körner-Allee 16, 02763 Zittau).

Please note that section 6 no. (6) of our Regulations for Admission (in the version published on 22 Oct 2018, as amended from time to time) stipulates that applicants from outside Germany can only be admitted if all individual learning achievements of their previous education, starting with the secondary school leaving certificate, have been attained.

Foreign applicants who are eligible for direct university access must also submit a relevant language certificate (see (b)); applicants who are qualified for indirect university access need to present a certificate of having passed the FSP university aptitude exams (Feststellungsprüfung).

You can find out whether you have direct or indirect university access on the anabin website.

If you are unable to submit the certificate mentioned under (a) or (b), you can obtain it at our Foreign Students' College (FSC). You will need to attend the respective FSP or DSH prep course. The DSH course is taught over one semester, and the FSP course has a standard time of two semesters.

You can apply for admission to our Foreign Students' College when you send your application through our applicant portal. Please understand that the FSC does not offer courses for beginners in German. Successful applicants will thus need to evidence knowlege of German:

EU citizens should present a B1 certificate or, respectively, proof of 400 completed hours of German classes.

Non-EU citizens must submit a B1 certificate issued by the Goethe Institute. We can only accept B1 certificates from other language schools if they were awarded in Germany. Successful applicants will have passed all four tests (reading comprehension, listening comprehension, speaking, writing). Please note that we cannot consider incomplete certificates.

You will need to take an assessment test in Zittau before we can admit you to the FSC.

We cannot begin to review your application unless you have submitted all required documents.
