Purposes of the processing

The processing of personal data is required for a differentiated analysis of the academic situation at our University. The results of this analysis serve as a basis to identify measures for the further development and quality improvment of

  • our degree courses (programme evaluation);
  • individual modules (module evaluation);
  • our academic organization and environment, and the optimization of workflows in our fundamental units (programme evaluation, course evaluation);
  • our teaching in general and the performance and competence of our teachers in lectures, seminars, problem solving and lab classes (course evaluation).

    The University’s Evaluation Regulation (ER) in conjunction with section 9 of the Saxon Higher Education Autonomy Act (SächsHSFG)

    Recipients (categories)

    Subject to the evaluand at hand and according to sections 6, 8(1) ER, the results of our evaluations will be made available to our students, the evaluated teacher / module convenor, the responsible academic planning committee, the responsible faculty management, the rectorate and the University’s QM unit. No data will be transferred to third countries or international organizations.

    Storage period

    The period of storage is defined in section 8 ER.

    Rights of the data subject

    Evaluations are made anonymously, surveys do not contain any identification. Evaluation results can be retrieved in a summarized form. You have the right to:

    • obtain confirmation as to whether personal data concerning you are being processed and, if this is the case, to obtain access to your personal data (Art. 15 GDPR);
    • obtain the rectification of inaccurate personal data (Art. 16 GDPR);
    • obtain the erasure of personal data concerning you (Art. 17 GDPR);
    • obtain restriction of processing of personal data concerning you (Art. 18 GDPR);
    • object to the processing of personal data concerning you (Art. 21 GDPR);
    • lodge a compaint with the Saxon Data-Protection Supervisor (see https://www.saechsdsb.de/n-kontakt [de]).

    Provision of personal data

    All evaluation results are obtained from aggregation of personal data. We do not use automated decision-making.
