Our region – steeped in history, rich in attractions

In addition to the excellent study opportunities we offer, the Dreiländereck or "trinational triangle" is rich in further attractions – the well-appointed and affordable apartments and student residence halls readily available to one and all; the close proximity to Saxony’s capital city, Dresden, and also to Prague, Wrocław and the Giant Mountains; student clubs, bars, discos and restaurants – all just around the corner; perfect conditions for outdoor sports such as mountain biking, rock climbing or snowboarding. Hiking in the Zittau Mountains, bike trips along the Oder-Neisse bicycle path, discovering the various towns in the area – all are attractive leisure time activities on your very doorstep.

To explore Zittau is to feel the pulse of history. In the town centre, well-preserved over the centuries, take the “Zittau Cultural Path,” which leads you to 52 special sights along winding streets full of nooks and crannies and on spacious market squares.

Görlitz with its characteristic and unique architectural diversity – for many this city is the most beautiful in all Germany, indeed arguably the best-preserved historical townscape in Europe, with a total of 4,000 listed historical buildings, most of them now carefully restored.

Zittau and Görlitz are both well-suited to act as starting points for exploring the trinational triangle: Saxony, Silesia, Bohemia – here they are all close at hand.
