Systemic work in child and youth welfare - help for upbringing

Basic course, course start March 30, 2017

This basic course is the first of two parts of the training to become a systemic consultant.

 

Target group:Professionals (psychologists, educators, social workers, social and therapeutic pedagogues) in institutions of "help for upbringing", youth welfare office, counseling institutions, professionals from clinics. 20 persons can participate in the course.Admission requirements:Qualification as a state-approved educator, state-approved social worker or social pedagogue, psychologist (others on request).Professional field of work in which the implementation of systemic ideas and approaches is or can become possible.Aims of the further education:By teaching systemic thinking and systemic methods the professional competence of the participants for the working field "help for education" will be extended. The implementation of systemic work in the daily professional practice is accompanied processually.Contents of the training:- Basics of the systemic approach- Systemic conversation with children, adolescents, parents and other participants (questioning techniques: e.g. Context questions, resource-oriented/circular/hypothetical/paradoxical question, questions about differences and exceptions, reinterpretations, wonder question, scaling PELZ model)- Help plan conversation, goal definitions (SMART)- Appreciative understanding of family systems- Appreciative exploration for children "treasure hunt" - finding resources- Attitude: Appreciation, solution and resource orientation, impartiality- Intervention possibilities- Genogram, photogram, resource wheel- Shaping relationships- Importance of rituals- Objective work (family board, sculpture, resource animals)- Externalizing- Parent coaching, dealing with juvenile violence (according to Haim Omer and Arist v. Schlippe)- Parent training - "Making parents strong"- Working with stories and metaphors- Inner family- Biographical methods (e.g. Time Line) - Past, present and future as a resource- Systemic programs ("I can do it"), games (e.g. Think, Feel, Act story-telling game) and computer programs (children's magician Bam)- Reflection on implementation with children and parents.Methods:Varied methods - mediation, demonstrations, role plays, small group work, video sequences (including Arist v. Schlippe, Haim Omer, Insoo Kim Berg, Steve de Shazer), reflection, and of course practice, practice, practice!Participants are provided with extensive teaching materials as well as course and photo documentation. The completed basic course entitles the participant to attend the following advanced courses at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences:Advanced Course Level I:"Systemic Consultant" (*DGsP) - one year; completion with university and umbrella organization certificateAdvanced CourseLevel II:"Systemic Solution-Oriented Short-Term Therapy, Family Therapy and Counseling"; completion with umbrella organization certificate possible "Trauma Education - Trauma and the Consequences: Possibilities of action for pedagogy"; completion with university certificate "Systemic supervision and coaching" - completion with umbrella association certificates possibleCosts forthe basic course:1.350,00 € total price for all modules, the university certificate and the participant documents.

Funding:

Saxon participants can apply for a grant towards the total costs from the Sächsische Aufbaubank. The conditions of the Saxon continuing education check are available at www.sab.sachsen.de. Participants who already intend to complete the training as a systemic consultant or family therapist at the beginning of the basic course should inform the SAB of this and seek advice from the SAB before applying whether these courses can be applied for as a package together with the basic course.
